Our Story

Let’s cut the shit and get to the core of it all. We met during graduate school at the Cleveland Institute of Music, after which Mackenzie went on to join the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Lauren went to Rice University. By a stroke of luck, we both ended up back in Chicago. Mackenzie has six contracts as Principal Bassoon with regional orchestras throughout the midwest, and Lauren currently holds a section oboe position with the Naples Philharmonic. We also both take frequent substitute work both locally and around the country.

Many musicians feel financially limited, creating stress that takes away from the art of performance, so we created a podcast to help empower artists through their finances and get back to the music.
